I just had one of the best weekends I’ve had in a while. I think it is the fall weather. I LOVE fall weather. And I love the outdoors. And I’m no longer sweating my ass off while outside, so that’s a win-win.

I think it was a great weekend in part because I finally did some much-deserved self care after a bit of a challenging week. Ok, more like several challenging weeks. In a row. Last week, a complaint came up at work about my profile on LinkedIn. I’ve been working with a business coach the last five months and one of the things we tackled early on was updating my LinkedIn profile. And, of course, it wasn’t a casual, “Hey, you should get on there and randomly update whatever.” It was a thought out process involving research and SEO and blah, blah, blah. And I have to admit, it worked. I’ve made just as many connections in the last five months as I have in the last five years. It was kind of cool to see the process work.

Anyway, the company I work for received a complaint about the use of ‘badass’ in my headline. And, no, it was not the author, but it was very disappointing nonetheless. Not disappointing because I was asked to remove it, that was a blessing in disguise. It prompted me to dig a little more and changing that one word actually improved my headline and my message.
